BALLET II

TUESDAY & THURSDAY 5:00 PM SATURDAY 10:00 AM

Ballet II is ideal for 7 and 8 years old students. In this class the dancers begin the lesson by warming up with a routine that will strengthen their feet, stretch their body and physically prepare them for the class. Then they will move to the Ballet Barre.  The job at the Ballet Barre in this level  involves basic technique and  more detailed combinations entailing “port de bras” (use of upper body, head, and arms). They continue working on names and they are encouraged to develop their musicality by counting the steps. They also will work at the center on spotting for turns and simple jumps. Class time will be spent learning basic floor barre technique and stretching specific to the hamstrings, quadriceps, calves, and back muscles.
